Jr Iron Chef VT
Jr Iron Chef VT is a yearly, statewide competition that engages middle and high school students in cooking healthy meals, local food systems, and critical thinking about what is served in their school cafeteria.
My responsibilities include creating materials for school and donor outreach, email campaign management, onsite event materials, event photography, merchandise, and promoting fundraising efforts.
A Student Culinary
Competition to
Inspire School Meals
I created a visual brand refresh to breathe new life into the look and feel of the program. New assets allowed for the identity to be used consistently and more easily across applications — including event programs, merchandise, social media, and web.
Event photography of the students in action on competition day captures the energy and joy of the program — an indispensable tool for bringing new schools and funders into the mix!

In 2020, the Jr Iron Chef VT Cooking Club was invented when the in-person competition was not a safe option.
The monthly cooking challenge brought our community together and highlighted the voices of Jr Iron Chef mentors, local chefs, and food systems experts.
I created the sub brand visuals, managed the communications and email campaigns (example), remodeled the website for the new usage, and kept the project moving forward to keep participants engaged.
I run the marketing and design efforts of Jr Iron Chef VT’s annual fundraising dinner. Celebrated local chefs are paired with a winning youth team to cook together and share their culinary knowledge.
Student teams take their award-winning recipes to the next level with the guidance of their chef mentors. Then, they cook their locally sourced dishes for guests to benefit next year’s competition.
